Dale Earnhardt Sr., famous race car driver

Dale Earnhardt Sr. was a polarizing figure in the NASCAR racing circuit. He was an aggressive and often dangerous driver, causing him to be both loved and hated in the sport. Despite his numerous detractors, Earnhardt became one of the sport's most popular drivers with fans, who enjoyed the excitement he brought to the track. His black and red #3 remains one of the most famous logos in North American motorsport. He died tragically in 2001, crashing into the wall on he final lap of the Daytona 500. His son, Dale Earnhardt Jr., continues to race.
