Summary of Play

Famous Fairways is a fun, fast-playing take on the sport of golf. The game pits two golfers against each other but also against the course itself. The path to each hole is dotted with hazards and the golfers must choose their clubs carefully to avoid them. Each club can only be used once per hole, however, so players must weigh the value of the perfect shot against the shot that best limits the options of their opponent. Famous Fairways is Game #5 in our line of World’s Smallest Sports Games and serves as the perfect rematch on the 19th hole.

Jack Nicklaus, famous golfer

Widely regarded as one of the greatest professional golfers of all time, Jack Nicklaus was consistently among the longest and straightest hitters on the PGA Tour. He could hit a 3-wood or 1-iron from the tee with increased accuracy to avoid trouble, yet with sufficient length to keep up with the drivers hit by most rivals. Nicklaus was also the first professional player to chart and document yardages on the course on a consistent, planned basis, a practice that caused him to visualize the landscape in a new way. His golf course design company, Niklaus Design, is one of the largest in the business and is responsible for constructing approximately 1% of all golf courses in the world today.
